Teaching Philosophy on the Eve of the Twenty-First Century

Bu kitap Uluslararası Felsefe Dernekleri Federasyonu’nun (FISP) Felsefe Eğitimi Komitesinin çalışmalarının bir ürünüdür. Burada yayınlanan bildirilerin çoğu Komite üyeleri tarafından hazırlanmıştır; diğer bildirilerin yazarları ise bu Komite üyelerinin önerdiği kişilerdir. Katılımcılar Macaristan, İrlanda, İsrail. Japonya, Kore, Nijerya, Çin Halk Cumhuriyeti, Güney Afrika, Tayvan, Türkiye, Birleşik Krallık ve ABD’den gelmektedir.

Yazarlar felsefe eğitimiyle ilgili dört ana soruyu/sorunu ele almaktadırlar:

2. Diğer Disiplinlere Felsefe Eğitimi;
3. Niçin Felsefe Öğretmeliyiz?;
4. Geniş Eğitim Programları İçinde Felsefenin Yeri.

This volume, a joint publication of FISP and the Philosophical Society of Turkey, conveys a genuinely global perspective on the issues which philosophers contemplate as they reflect on the practice and theory of teaching philosophy. The essays focus mainly on the following four themes: Philosophy and the values of democracy; Teaching philosophy to other disciplines; Who should teach philosophy? and The place of philosophy in the wider curriculum.
